I was born, raised, and currently reside in Grand Forks. This year I will be splitting time each day between Senior High and Central Middle School. I enjoy travelling, photography and listening to music.

My time spent at the Senior High school will be primarily in the ceramics department. This year I will be offering three sections of Ceramics I the first semester and three sections of Ceramics II the second., but hope to add Ceramics III in the future. I am fairly new to teaching pottery, but plan to adapt fast and learn along with the students. Building with clay is a slow, dusty process, with quite a few “rules”; but with a little time, effort, and practice any student should have an opportunity make several successful art pieces.

My time spent at the middle school will just be with the seventh and eighth graders. I hope to give them a small dose of the arts in a quick nine- week block. I will use the quarter to introduce the students to a variety of materials, techniques, and historically significant artists. This way they will have a bit of a foundation in visual art knowledge to build upon if they elect to pursue an art class at the secondary level.

I received my undergraduate degree, a BFA in Visual Arts with a focus in Painting, form the University of North Dakota. I received a graduate degree in Education from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. I am currently enrolled in the Leadership Program at UND, but not taking classes this year.
