We are counting down the alphabet until the end of the school year, and for the letter C, Ms. Taylor’s class got creative with chalk art! Students had a great time showing their imagination and adding colorful masterpieces to our sidewalks. What a fun way to celebrate the countdown and brighten everyone’s day!

Today we had the pleasure of having Ben Kruta, a University of North Dakota student majoring in music education, for his final day of observations. Ben brought in a variety of instruments to share with our students, including trumpet, baritone, French horn, cello, clarinet, oboe, and piccolo.

We adjusted our specials schedule so every student had the opportunity to attend his presentation and experience these unique instruments up close. Ben did a wonderful job engaging students and sharing his musical talents. Thank you, Ben, for providing such a memorable experience for our students!

The Good News Call of the Day is for Teagan Jeffrey.
She was nominated by her teacher, Mr. Vatnsdal and here is what he had to say about Teagan: "Many, many days this winter, Teagan helped a student in Ms. Hewitt’s class with her winter gear coming inside from Recess. Removing her boots and snow pants and helping her put them away. I didn't ask her to do this, and neither did Ms. Hewitt. She was so kind and helpful to the student and always gave her a hug when they were finished with the gear!
Congratulations Teagan - we are so proud of you!

Upcoming Event: Seatbelt and Smiles Initiative

As we continue working together to keep our students safe, we’re excited to share an upcoming initiative. The Polk County Toward Zero Deaths Coalition is partnering with our local schools to bring a positive safety campaign called “Seatbelt & Smiles” to our drop-off and pick-up areas.

On Thursday, April 23 in the morning, coalition members, law enforcement, and other volunteers will be present looking for drivers and passengers who are buckled up and practicing safe habits like hands-free driving—and rewarding those good choices with a smile, a thank-you, or even a small prize. This initiative is all about encouragement—not enforcement. There will be no tickets or warnings.

Seatbelt & Smiles — because safety starts with you.

Thank you, Polk County Public Health and Polk County Toward Zero Death (TZD) Coalition
