Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness
Minnesota's Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness (CACR) initiative, formerly known as the World's Best Workforce (WBWF), is a long-term strategic framework aimed at improving educational outcomes for all students. The initiative focuses on five key goals:
Ensuring all children are ready for school.
Ensuring all third-graders can read at grade level.
Closing racial and economic achievement gaps.
Preparing all students for careers and college.
Ensuring all students graduate from high school.
School districts are required to create strategic plans to meet these goals, submit annual reports on their progress, and align their efforts from early childhood through high school. The initiative is designed to ensure that all students are academically prepared and ready to contribute to society as active citizens.
East Grand Forks Public Schools' plan serves as a foundational document to align the many initiatives already in place to ensure our students are equipped with necessary skills for the 21st century.
Clearly defined student achievement goals and benchmarks.
Process to evaluate each student’s progress toward meeting the state and local academic standards.
A system to review and evaluate the effectiveness of instruction and curriculum.
Practices that integrate high-quality instruction, rigorous curriculum, instructional technology, and a collaborative professional culture that support teacher quality, performance and effectiveness.
Evidence-based strategies for improving curriculum, instruction and student achievement.
An annual budget for continuation of district plan implementation.
Strategic Plan
The East Grand Forks Public Schools Strategic Plan is a guiding document created to help the school district successfully serve the needs of our community now and in the future.
The Strategic Plan is reviewed and refined to reflect progress made and changing needs. The most recent update was completed in the spring of 2018.
Annual Reports
Districts are required to submit their WBWF annual reports to the MDE each fall. The reports must summarize progress toward the outlined goals, detail best practice strategies implemented, and provide evidence of efforts to close achievement gaps and work toward creating the world's best workforce in Minnesota.
